Tales of passion

Isabell Allende is well known as a feminist, she is a successful woman who doesn’t forget about others women most unfortunate than her and that we can see in her talk “Tales of passion” in which she expresses his opinion about sexism  and how the world is dominated by men.

In the talk Isabel Allende named a few women who accompanied her in the Olympics, she describes as strong women which fight with the prostitution in some countries, the forced labor and she make us to think about how “privileged” we are to be in a part of the world where this problems in this time are becoming more criticized, because in others parts of the world women are treated unfairly and if we lack a lot to reach equality, for them it is forbidden to even think about the concept.

The situations of sexism in our country are in the areas of work, in educational institution, in sports, because the mentality of the people still closed to think otherwise, especially the old generations. The woman usually earn less than men, are more criticized for their actions with everyday expressions like “act like a lady”, there are not many women in power in the world, so they have no female representation in the country's decisions, women are raped, kidnapped, censured every day in the world and we have to stop that, Isabel Allende said as a joke the world works bad for the few opportunities for women's participation and domination of men in all areas.

In my opinion Chile it’s a patriarch country , but the young generation have the concept of equality every time more present and the girls of our generation fight with gender discrimination every day, it is not impossible ,as the writer says, make this world good.

  2. Yeah, I believe the same: Chile is a patriarch country right now and we can't deny it. But We have the responsability, how young people, to change this old fashioned thinkings and make this country, this society not perfect but good. We never have to give uo in the battle for the equality of genders!
