Education in Chile: My views on the students' strike

Education it’s one of the most important things in the world, with education we learn respect, tolerance, we improve our environment, it develops critical thinking, we become persons with opinion who can actively participate in society, but when education is not of quality is when the problems begin, THIS is our case.

In Chile, education has to be paid to no for be of quality. In my opinion the fact that students go into the street to demand a decent education is a signal that we want a better future, a signal that we are concerned about the segmentation caused by the economic level that the students have.

I never had been in strike, I'm from a small high school and these problems despite being present were indifferent for us, but this year that changed, because in the university the information comes to me in so many ways so I can’t ignore the problems now, so I agreed about the strike at the beginning but I never thought it would last so long (two months) and that participation would be so low. Personally I cannot judge anybody because my participation leaves a lot to be desired, but at least I was going to vote, when I saw the little participation wise it was time to end the strike,  but people who didn't want strike prefer not to participate and so the yes to the  strike always won.

I still believe that the reasons that led to the strike were sufficient because the system is very unfair, I have gratuity because students of past generations sacrificed their own studies for many of us because they knew that poor education makes us a country with fewer development opportunities and a lower quaility life.

I hope one day be proud of my country's education.

Tales of passion

Isabell Allende is well known as a feminist, she is a successful woman who doesn’t forget about others women most unfortunate than her and that we can see in her talk “Tales of passion” in which she expresses his opinion about sexism  and how the world is dominated by men.

In the talk Isabel Allende named a few women who accompanied her in the Olympics, she describes as strong women which fight with the prostitution in some countries, the forced labor and she make us to think about how “privileged” we are to be in a part of the world where this problems in this time are becoming more criticized, because in others parts of the world women are treated unfairly and if we lack a lot to reach equality, for them it is forbidden to even think about the concept.

The situations of sexism in our country are in the areas of work, in educational institution, in sports, because the mentality of the people still closed to think otherwise, especially the old generations. The woman usually earn less than men, are more criticized for their actions with everyday expressions like “act like a lady”, there are not many women in power in the world, so they have no female representation in the country's decisions, women are raped, kidnapped, censured every day in the world and we have to stop that, Isabel Allende said as a joke the world works bad for the few opportunities for women's participation and domination of men in all areas.

In my opinion Chile it’s a patriarch country , but the young generation have the concept of equality every time more present and the girls of our generation fight with gender discrimination every day, it is not impossible ,as the writer says, make this world good.

What you need to be a good architect

In my opinion for to be a good architect you must be dedicated to your work, I mean  an architect  have to love what he do because  the ideas that he think ,  can be part of the society and if he love what he do, he will do  well and considerating the satisfaction of other people about the building.
A construction must have soul and the architect must have the ability of give that to a building so a complete architect must be creative, original, and respectful about the context of a construction, I mean if he will intervane a space like a forest he must worry that his construction fits in place.  If he don't have present this , his work would be disgusting for people and even dangerous. Besides  the architect must have pacience because the work it's hard  and not always the results are good, so he must be able to overcome a bad circunstance.
The achitecture is a career difficult but with perseverant and effort  can be good at it.

My first month at the FAU

When I was decided to study architecture I never thought it's going to be so difficult for me, I'm a negative person, that is the true, but I really thought that I would make it easier, even when I told to my family and friends and they look at me like "you're going to suffer" I was sure about that because I knew the career it was perfect to my humanism mixed with math.
I remember that a very close friend told me in the new year "happy year I hope do you well in Architorture", it was fun then, but now I knew that was not so far from the reality, I mean I like this, but I don't love the subway in the morning, I always studied  close to my home so this is a change very radical for me, but that is not fault  of the career, It's mine to choosing a faculty far from my home, so I have get used.
The FAU It is a cozy place, for not to say small but I don’t have problems with that, but as I said above, it has made me difficult for the time required for homework, I’m a not organized person so I'm always running, but despite all, it still seems exciting and in this place I meet very nice people.
I’m feel I little stressed right now, and that it’s fun and weird at the same time, because I’m here three weeks ago, but when I but when I get to organize my time everything will be fine (or that's what I tell myself).
I hope that the responsibility comes to me like an angel to save me and the alarm on my phone ring at the time, that way my world would be happy again.

Summer 2016

I always holydayed in Osorno, because it is the place where my family lives (maternal and paternal),
this time was not different and the two weeks of January we went south for a month.
This place always helps me relax to the capital life, but sometime I'm getting bored because is not wifi, there is little sign for phones,  and it's ok for a couple of weeks but for a month feels at the time of the caves, especially at night where leisure comes. But morning in that place are nice, being with family support this, and usually in the mornings vacation, we went out to nearby beaches or rivers and that it was fun.

The remaining weeks pass in Santiago, together with my friends and usually at home.
Still, to get into college feel I should take advantage of sleeping, like a bear  that hibernates.
