Education it’s one of the most important things in the world, with education we learn respect, tolerance, we improve our environment, it develops critical thinking, we become persons with opinion who can actively participate in society, but when education is not of quality is when the problems begin, THIS is our case.
In Chile, education has to be paid to no for be of quality. In my opinion the fact that students go into the street to demand a decent education is a signal that we want a better future, a signal that we are concerned about the segmentation caused by the economic level that the students have.
I never had been in strike, I'm from a small high school and these problems despite being present were indifferent for us, but this year that changed, because in the university the information comes to me in so many ways so I can’t ignore the problems now, so I agreed about the strike at the beginning but I never thought it would last so long (two months) and that participation would be so low. Personally I cannot judge anybody because my participation leaves a lot to be desired, but at least I was going to vote, when I saw the little participation wise it was time to end the strike, but people who didn't want strike prefer not to participate and so the yes to the strike always won.
I still believe that the reasons that led to the strike were sufficient because the system is very unfair, I have gratuity because students of past generations sacrificed their own studies for many of us because they knew that poor education makes us a country with fewer development opportunities and a lower quaility life.
I hope one day be proud of my country's education.
